How do I verify my PayPal account?

A "validated but unverified” message on your fundraiser should not cause any issues with your ability to receive donations, but it does indicate that one of two things needs to be completed in your PayPal account.

First, this could mean that your PayPal account needs to be verified. You can correct this by checking your email for a PayPal verification email, or following the verification prompts when you sign into your PayPal account.

To verify your PayPal account please follow these steps:

1. Go to and log in to your account.
2. Locate the gear-shaped icon at the top right corner of your screen, next to the words "Log Out."
3. Click the gear icon, which will take you to your account settings page.
4. Click "confirm" next to your email.
5. Check your inbox for the confirmation email from PayPal.

Secondly, this could indicate that a bank account has not been added to PayPal. You can follow these steps to add a bank account:

1. Go to and log in to your account.
2. Click "Wallet" near the top of the page.
3. Click the "Link a card or bank" button.
4. Select "Link a Bank Account."
5. Select your bank provider from the list of options.
6. Follow the prompts to complete the setup.

If you would prefer not to add a bank account to your PayPal account and only intend to receive and use funds within your account, you can ignore the "validated but unverified" message on your fundraiser. This will not affect your ability to receive donations.
