I’m raising funds for someone based in the U.S. How do I set up my fundraiser so that they receive the donations directly?

If the beneficiary of your fundraiser is a U.S. or Canadian citizen, you can use WePay as your payment processor.

WePay requires that the stated beneficiary of the fundraiser or a close relative (spouse, sibling, or parent) manage and withdraw the donations directly.

When you create your fundraiser, you will need to click the "Confirm" button on the "Collecting your Donations" page.

This will direct you to the "Who is the fundraiser for?" page. You'll then need to follow these steps to set up the account for funds to be sent directly to your beneficiary:

1. Click on the "Someone Else" button.

2. Enter in the beneficiary's First Name, Last Name, and Email Address in the "Their details" section. This will create a WePay account for your beneficiary that will automatically be linked to the fundraiser page.
3. Enter your preferred Email Address in the "Your details" section. This will also give you access to the WePay account.
4. Click "Confirm."

You and your beneficiary will both receive an email from WePay asking you to confirm your email addresses. After your beneficiary has confirmed their email address, they will then be able to log into WePay.com to add their personal and banking information for the fundraiser.

Please note that one of you will need to confirm the account to enable your fundraiser to start accepting donations.
